Sofia Xirotyri started practicing Gymnastics at the age of 7 and acrobatic gymnastics at the age of 18. She competed and won served Hellenic Championships. She became part of the Greek National Aerobic Gymnastics Team and was recognized in several European and World Championships. She left the competitive world at the age of 30 and that’s when her journey with Ashtanga Yoga began, with her teacher Savvas Giantsis. She started practicing daily and in 2010 she traveled to India for the very first time. She then continued to grow her knowledge through many seminars (with Kino Mc Gregor, Laruga Glaser, Taric Tamic). She then traveled to New York and completed her Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Atmananda Yoga Studio with her teacher, John Tamayo. Meanwhile, she practiced daily with Eddie Stern and also took classes with Dharma Mittra. In 2011, she went to London and took classes with Sharath Jois, which led her to the decision to travel to Mysore, India. The yearly trips and her long stays at Mysore, became part of her life. In January of 2014, she became an authorized level 2 teacher from KPJAYI and her teacher in India, Sharath Jois. In 2016, she took a Special Course for teachers at KPJAYI in Mysore with teacher Sharath Jois. Since then, she participates in many seminars from her favorite teachers but also friends from all corners of the world. She still visits her Ashtanga Yoga school in Mysore. Daily practice, trips to Mysore and the Yoga Community are a constant source of inspiration for her. Her need to share her love for yoga led her to open One Soul Yoga Studio! It is a source of great happiness for her to communicate and transmit her knowledge to everyone who loves to practice yoga.
